A business built for one owner to manage
Chic The Brand is a digital-first fashion and accessories retailer founded by Ms Chrisi Coetzer. She began the business in her final school year and continues to run it alongside her university studies.
From the outset, the goal was more than an online storefront: create a practical operating foundation for products, orders, stock, purchases, finance and customer communication.
The challenge
As a new business, Chic did not need to replace a legacy system. The challenge was to avoid creating disconnected processes from the beginning—while keeping the operation manageable for one person.
- Online selling needed an operating backbone. Orders, payment records, stock, supplier purchases, accounting and communication needed to work together.
- Owner visibility mattered. Chrisi needed a clear view of the business without relying on separate tools or manually stitching information together.
- The foundation needed room to grow. The setup had to be usable while the business was small and support a growing catalogue and order volume over time.
The Zoho One foundation
Komani Tax Shop established a Zoho One foundation around Chic’s online selling and day-to-day administration. This was a business setup rather than a migration from an existing operating system.
- Zoho Commerce: online storefront, catalogue and sales-order management.
- Zoho Inventory: stock visibility and fulfilment reporting.
- Zoho Books: financial administration alongside the commerce operation.
- Zoho Mail: business communication for sales and administration.
Zoho Social is configured for a later marketing phase. Zoho CRM is not in scope for this case study.
How the operation connects
Product and catalogue information supports the Zoho Commerce storefront. Commerce sales orders record invoicing, payment and fulfilment status, while Inventory supports stock and fulfilment reporting. Zoho Books and Zoho Mail support the wider financial administration and business communication required to run the operation.
Chrisi remains the owner-operator who reviews and manages the process. The outcome is one connected business foundation rather than a standalone website.
“Komani Tax Shop has helped Chic the Brand use Zoho One as an integrated platform for our business. Our online shop runs on Zoho Commerce and is connected with Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory, while Zoho Mail supports our business communication.”
